Concentric (The People)

The diameters of the concentric rings and corresponding discs are calculated algorithmically in such a way that overlap seamlessly as they grow outward and upward. This contemporary form is juxtaposed with use of ornamental motifs some of which date back to the 15th century and come from a number of sources including Ottoman and Persian. 

This piece is comprised of nearly 1000 individual parts in card, paper and mylar - assembled entirely by hand in a complex collaging technique.
